Online Workshops

Co-nect's online workshops, or Facilitated Learning Modules, were created specifically to support the study group process. Available in the Professional Development section of the Exchange, each workshop has four sessions and each session is intended to last between 30 and 45 minutes. The following is the recommended sequence for completing the sessions:
Session 1: This session is an introduction to the workshop's content. It is recommended that you complete this session individually.
Session 2: This session focuses on an analysis of the workshop's content. It is recommended that you complete this session with a partner and that you complete this session within two weeks of completing Session 1.
Session 3: This session focuses on an application of the workshop's content. It is recommended that you complete this session with a small group of four to eight colleagues and that you complete this session within two weeks of completing Session 2.
Session 4: This session is an opportunity to receive feedback from colleagues after implementing new ideas and resources. It is recommended that you complete this session with a small group of four to ten colleagues and that you complete this session within three weeks of completing Session 3.
In addition, each online workshop has a Facilitator Guide to help the study group leader facilitate the process of the group and a Participant Workbook that participants can use to complete the workshop.
Participants completing an online workshop as part of a study group are encouraged to register for the workshop. By registering, the participant allows the Exchange to track completed activities at the end of each session, and participants have the option of submitting their completed work to a school or district administrator to receive professional development credits. Co-nect recommends that participants receive four (4) hours of professional development credit for each completed online workshop.
